Jira doesn’t show sprint start and end dates next to your work items in List view. The Sprint dates for Jira template adds them as columns, in your own browser.
Steps
- In Skins Studio, open Explore, pick Sprint dates for Jira and click Create App.
- On Jira, open the Skins side panel from the browser toolbar. The skin is listed under On this page.
- Switch it on. Jira reloads with the two columns.
What you get
- Sprint start and Sprint end columns right after the Sprint column.
- Columns built from Jira’s own cells, so they read like the columns around them.
- A work item carried over several sprints shows its latest sprint’s dates.
- No admin rights, custom field, automation rule or paid app. Switch it off any time.
Limits
- The dates are display only. You can’t use them in JQL.
- Filters, quick filters, dashboards and automation rules can’t key on them. That needs Atlassian.
- Only your browser shows them. Nothing changes for your colleagues.
Other options
- Automation rule: copies the sprint end date into the due date or a custom field. Takes over that field, skips past work, can pick the wrong sprint on rollover.
- Filters with typed dates: the sprint dates written into the filter. Stale every sprint.
- Marketplace app: a paid add-on. You pay for a date Jira already stores.
- Ask Atlassian: vote on the ticket.
