You need a Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Opera) and a Skins account (early access). Firefox and Safari aren’t supported yet.

  1. Download skins-latest-chromium.zip (the newest release, 0.1.0-alpha.11, 170 KB).
  2. Unzip it and move the skins-extension folder somewhere it can stay, like Documents. The extension runs from that folder: moving or deleting it stops Skins.
  3. Open the extensions page: chrome://extensions in Chrome, edge://extensions in Edge, brave://extensions in Brave.
  4. Turn on Developer mode: top right in Chrome, in the left sidebar in Edge.
  5. Click Load unpacked and choose the skins-extension folder, the one with manifest.json inside.
  6. Click Details on the Skins card and turn on Allow User Scripts. Without it, no skin turns on.
  7. Pin it: the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar, then the pin next to Skins.
  8. Sign in: click the Skins icon to open the side panel, then Sign in.

Next: record the app you want to change.
