# Update and remove

## Update

Skins is installed from a folder, so it doesn't update by itself. Your version is shown in the side
panel's **Settings**; the newest is on [Releases](/docs/releases/), with what changed.

1. Download [the newest zip](https://skins.dev/download/skins-latest-chromium.zip).
2. Unzip it over your `skins-extension` folder, replacing the files.
3. On the extensions page, click the reload arrow on the Skins card.

Your sign-in and your skins stay.

## Remove

On the extensions page, click **Remove** on the Skins card. Then delete the `skins-extension` folder.
