# Troubleshooting

## "Manifest file is missing or unreadable"

You chose the zip, or the folder above it. Choose the `skins-extension` folder itself.

## No skin turns on

- **Allow User Scripts** is off: turn it on ([Install](/docs/install/), step 6).
- All skins are paused, or this skin is switched off: see the Manage tab
  ([Managing your skins](/docs/managing/#the-manage-tab)).
- The page is a browser page, where no skin runs
  ([Managing your skins](/docs/managing/#where-a-skin-is-on)).

## A published change doesn't show

Open the side panel or press **Refresh from server**, then reload the page
([Getting new versions](/docs/managing/#getting-new-versions)).

## The browser warns about developer-mode extensions

Expected for extensions installed from a folder. Keep Skins enabled.

## Skins disappeared after I moved its folder

Load it again from the folder's new place ([Install](/docs/install/), step 5).
