**Confluence has no reader setting for text size: Compact mode and the Small text style are set by the page's author, per page or per paragraph. The Text size for Confluence template adds a Text control to every page's byline that sets the size and line spacing of page text for you, on every page, in your own browser.**

## Steps

1. In Skins Studio, open **Explore**, pick **Text size for Confluence** and click **Create App**.
2. On a Confluence page, open the **Skins** side panel from the browser toolbar. The skin is listed under **On this page**.
3. Switch it on. The page reloads with a **Text** control in the byline, next to the author and reading time.
4. Click **A−** or **A+** to change the size, and **Normal** or **Compact** to change the line spacing.

## What you get

- A Text control in the byline of every page, next to the author and reading time.
- A− and A+ buttons that set the text size from 11 to 20 px, 16 px by default.
- Normal and Compact line spacing.
- The size applies to paragraphs, lists and tables on every page, including pages you didn't write.
- Headings, the sidebar and the rest of Confluence stay as they are, unlike with browser zoom.

## Limits

- It changes what you see, not the page. Others see the page as written, and exports and PDFs keep the page's own text size.
- Headings keep their sizes.
- It doesn't give writers font sizes for individual words; it is a reading setting.
- Your choice applies to all pages, not one page at a time.

## Other options

- **Compact mode**: a page-level setting, shipped in February 2026, that the page's author turns on. Smaller text and tighter lines for everyone reading that page.
- **Small text style**: a text style, rolling out since June 2026, that applies to a whole paragraph.
- **Browser zoom**: scales everything, including the sidebar and headings.
- **Marketplace apps**: formatting apps on the Atlassian Marketplace.
- **Ask Atlassian**: vote on the ticket. Its status is Gathering Interest.
